Nature of Duties: The Early Childhood Care and Education Instructor will be responsible for teaching adult students in classroom and lab environments. The instructor provides theory and practical applications of Early Childhood Care and Education principles in certificate, diploma, and degree level classes designed to prepare students for careers in child care and related fields such as early childhood care or education paraprofessional. Related responsibilities include ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, coordinating the program advisory committee, developing and maintaining documentation for program accreditation, and maintaining program documentation and reports.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must possess a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Early Childhood Education. Applicant must have at least three years of in-field work experience within the past seven years and must be able to demonstrate, through work experience or seminars/workshops attended, a current knowledge of trends within the field. Previous training and/or experience in ECCE for children birth to 5 years is required. Good written and oral communications as well as computer skills are required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates with postsecondary instructional experience. Preference may also be given to candidates with experience managing program accreditation through NAEYC.
Salary/Benefits: Starting salary range is $42k - $48k. Benefits include paid state holidays, vacation, retirement, personal and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
