Position:  Adjunct Instructors - Online

Location:  Online

Department:  Academic Affairs

Reports to: Instructional Manager

FLSA Designation: Non-exempt

West Central Technical College is currently seeking qualified applicants to teach online courses in the following areas:

  • Mathematics*
  • English*
  • Psychology*
  • Sociology*
  • Economics*
  • Administrative/Business Office Technology**
  • Computer Information Systems**
  • Accounting*
  • Marketing**
  • Allied Health**

Nature of Responsibilities: Responsible for teaching and occasionally developing courses for online delivery. Will maintain online asynchronous communication with students (and synchronous if appropriate) in online discussions; provide regular, accurate, and timely student-specific assistance, feedback, and support to students relative to their performance; keep archives of student work and correspondence; maintain and report student participation and grades; and communicate with students and staff by email and telephone as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Master’s Degree in the course discipline (or related degree with 18 semester hours in the teaching discipline).

** Bachelor’s Degree in the course discipline (preference may be given to applicants with master’s degree). Must have previous experience in online teaching and previous training in online instruction, including instruction in best practices for online teaching and learning. Must have excellent written communication and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications: (In addition to the minimum qualifications.) Preference may be given to applicants who possess experience and knowledge of Blackboard and classroom/online teaching experience at the postsecondary level.

Salary/Benefits: $20 to $25/hr. No Benefits.
