Why does WCTC FOUNDATION need money from supporters?
- Without support, student debt would increase, making an education at WCTC FOUNDATION out of reach for many potential students.
- As government funding for education becomes less certain, each contribution takes on even greater importance.
- Many other technical and community colleges offer generous funding. We need to continue to enhance our scholarship dollars to remain competitive with the other colleges.
- Studies show that scholarship funds help to recruit underserved populations. We expect increasing numbers of students due to demographic and economic indications.

I support other causes already. Why should I support WCTC FOUNDATION?
Charitable givers understand that it is important to keep their causes financially sound. WCTC FOUNDATION needs their support for the same reason. In order to provide the highest quality education possible, WCTC FOUNDATION requires considerable funds.

Will my gift make a difference?
Yes! A gift of any size can have a tremendous impact and is extremely important to WCTC FOUNDATION. Not only do gifts add up, but they also help to encourage other givers. Foundations, corporations and individual donors with significant capacity to give often look for a college with strong overall backing before they will commit to supporting it. In addition, consistent giving will help WCTC FOUNDATION meet a larger percent of its annual needs and attract gifts for instructional programs and equipment, and student scholarships.

How might my gift be used?
There are many opportunities throughout WCTC FOUNDATION for donors to make a large impact. Gifts may be used for where the need is greatest or may be designated by the donor for instruction, scholarships or equipment.

Will I be recognized for my gift?
When you make a gift to WCTC FOUNDATION, we will send you a letter of appreciation along with a receipt in the mail. Other forms of recognition, such as ceremonies and special events, are also used to recognize certain donors.

What are the tax benefits of making a gift to PJC?
Every gift to WCTC FOUNDATION is tax deductible. Make sure that you keep your receipt for your records. Consult your accountant or attorney regarding an estate plan or bequest to WCTC FOUNDATION. Certain ways of giving allow you to receive a tax benefit, give a gift to WCTC and have an income for life.

What are the different ways I can make a gift to WCTC FOUNDATION?

How much control do I have over the use of my gift?
- If you wish to designate your gift, you may do so based on the needs of the college and under Foundation guidelines.
- If you would like to support a specific department, program or fund, you can let us know which one you desire, and we will direct your gift to that area.
- If you designate your gift to the WCTC FOUNDATION Fund, these funds go directly into the West Central General Fund.
- We encourage gifts to this Fund for greatest need to allow the Foundation and Dr. Skip Sullivan (WCTC President) discretion over spending. The needs of the college and our students may change and some flexibility is desirable under the prudent spending guidelines of the WCTC FOUNDATION.
