Meet the Golden Knight Women's Volleyball Coaches

Head Coach Chris Smith

Chris Smith has served as Central High School’s Varsity Volleyball coach for the past two years.  He came to CHS in 2005 and served as assistant coach for one year. During his tenure, he led the Lady Lions to the Sweet Sixteen in 2006, and to the regional playoffs in 2007.  Also, he has added a junior varsity team, allowing eighth graders to play as well. He anticipates an awesome inaugural volleyball season at West Central Tech. In addition to volleyball, he has also coached baseball, softball, and football. Coach Smith worked as an EMT at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta before returning to college in 1996.  He graduated from the State University of West Georgia in 2000. Coach Smith began his teaching career in 2000 at Lithia Springs High School in Douglas County.  He currently teaches Healthcare Science Technology at Central. His wife Monica is an English teacher at CHS.  The Smiths are active members of First Christian Church in Carrollton.  They have two boys, Drew, a first grader at Central Elementary, and Will, who is four.
